Frolic

It's been a while, but I'm back with a new post taken a little while ago. I suppose life has been a bit hectic these past few months, but I'm hoping to gain some inspiration and hop back onto the blog-writing horse. Happy belated new year - I hope you all have had a wonderful start to the year.

Parallel Lines

To be honest, I'm pretty surprised that it's taken me this long to feature stripes in an outfit post. If you look in my closet, you'll see that one-fifth is taken up by an array of different striped tops. Yes, they are different! Some stripes are thicker than others, or spaced further a part!

I've Culotte To Say

I've been searching for the perfect pair of culottes for the longest time, so imagine my glee when I finally found one that came in white! It's no problem finding them in black, so when I spotted these ones from Alice In The Eve, they became mine in a few short clicks of my mouse. Wish me luck as I begin a new journey with these pants, and hope for them to remain white and stainless.

Dressing For Adventures

On this day, Jeff and I went exploring at Bells Rapids, which involved walking through dirt, gravel, and a bit of a struggle over some rocks. This meant that it wasn't entirely practical to be wearing heels or restrictive tight jeans (no matter how good they make my legs and butt look), so I opted for a dress instead and boots that had a rubber sole for extra grip.
And in a couple of days time, we're heading on another grand adventure! So stay tuned and follow my instagram to see where we're going.

White On White On Blue

I thought I would try something different from my usual darker looks and experiment with all white. It was especially good since it's gotten a lot warmer, and this particular day was sweltering. You can't see it, but I was sweating and fanning myself between shots. P.S. how good is this blue background? It really makes up for my lack of colour!

A Canadian Tuxedo in Australia

I've always steered clear of the double denim trend a.k.a the Canadian Suit, because I didn't think I could pull it off without feeling too Aaron-And-Britney-In-2001, but since starting this blog I decided to branch out of my comfort zone. What I've found is that as long as your denims are different tones, then you don't need to worry too much about looking matchy-matchy. Maybe next time I'll give triple denim a go! But we'll just have to see how that turns out.

Have any of you guys tried the double denim trend? I'd love to see other ways people can pull the look together!

Sweater Weather

Okay, so we're more than halfway through September and although I didn't have high hopes for it, spring weather still hasn't fully emerged from behind the grey clouds that are still hanging in the sky. However! The bright side (literally) is that there are some days that have been a little warmer than usual and I take full advantage of that by letting my legs see the world for a brief moment. Of course, it wasn't warm enough to forgo a sweater, so I threw on this burgundy sweater begrudgingly and called it a day because after all, it is still sweater weather.

Don't get me wrong, I love sweaters and all things winter, but is it too much to ask for a little sunshine? I'm lacking some vitamin D. Anyone else have a the same sentiments?

A Little Leather Never Hurt

I thought a pretty flowy dress was appropiate attire for frolicking in nature while we visited Araluen Botanical Garden. The only problem was I've always been a bit of a tomboy at heart and never feel entirely comfortable wearing such "girly" clothing such as this cute as a button dress. Whenever I come across this bridge is to pair it with something leather - something a little more edgy and badass. So introducing my beloved leather jacket that I bought last year and have only taken it off when it makes me sweat bullet.

Not only is a leather jacket always a statement piece, it also adds some texture to your outfit making it a little interesting to the eye. And in my case, adds a sense of security where I feel better about wearing such a feminine dress and make me feel more badass!
